General guideline in the event of a non-witnessed person’s loss of consciousness

If you find an unconscious person and are not aware of the cause:
  • Examine documentation to learn if the victim is epileptic, diabetic, etc.
  • Try to find out what happened by questioning the witnesses or better yet the companions or family members.
  • Do not move the victim unless vital.
Do not disturb or touch personal belongings or objects in the victims surrounding unnecessarily, unless needed to save their life.  All the information observed must be communicated to the appropriate authorities and the doctor.
