Why choose us?
Because we work on the three pillars
Fundamentals of Fetal Medicine
Fundamentals of Fetal Medicine
Prevention:
This specialty, by treating the baby from the womb as a unique patient, provides better quality and development.
Detection:
It is through a very detailed ultrasound that the fetal health of the baby is verified with the aim of preventing and predicting the risk of diseases during pregnancy. It is more than a control ultrasound.
Correction:
Refers to the event of fetal surgery itself. It is a procedure that is performed in a minimally invasive way for the mother and generally only requires local anesthesia. Through minimal incisions in the mother's abdomen, special instruments measuring 2-4mm in diameter are used until reaching the small fetus to treat the disease that has been diagnosed thanks to intrauterine ultrasound.

Our group of gynecologists are also specialists in fetal ultrasound, a very important procedure that goes beyond a regular ultrasound.

Fetal Surgery
At the Metropolitan Hospital we perform fetal surgeries, which in many cases allow the baby, still inside the uterus, to benefit from clinical fetal therapy and in specific cases from fetal surgery (laser fetoscopy). It is important to highlight that in these procedures, at all times the mother will be accompanied by her primary gynecologist who is carrying out her prenatal care.
At Metro Fetal Medicine, the fetus is considered as a patient and treated as such, thus radically modifying the management of pregnancy and perinatal outcomes.
