Burn

First aid for burns:
  • Cool the burn immediately, putting the affected area under running cold water for at least 10 minutes or more, if the pain doesn’t disappears. In case of chemical burns, expand the range of 15 to 20 minutes under running water.
  • Cover the affected area with sterile dressings or else very clean (sheets, pillowcases, etc.) and moist.
  • DO NOT apply creams, ointments or any other drug or product.
  • As a rule, DO NOT remove the victim’s clothes, especially if they are attached to the skin. Only take them off in case they are steeped in caustic or boiling substances.
  • DO NOT drink anything, if the victim is thirsty, moisten his lips.
  • DO NOT puncture blisters.
  • Remove rings, watches, bracelets, etc.
  • If the person is on fire, avoid running. Smother the flames by covering with a blanket or similar, or by rolling on the floor.
  • Move the victim to a specialized center as soon as possible. He will be evaluated there and administered fluids.
